Especially when grinding, accuracy is generally speaking the most important factor while holding power comes second. In some cases however holding power can become very important. The F&S Magnet can propose the right type of chuck.
These type of chucks make use of permanent magnets to provide for the clamping force and are therefore independent of an external power source. By means of mechanism the magnetic force can be "switched" or "turned" on and off.
The mechanical operation can be regarded as a disadvantage as large chucks or large surfaces need various operating handles. This is the reason that the size of permanent chucks is restricted to 600x300 mm. When dealing with larger sizes an electrically operated chuck becomes more interesting.
